INTEGRATION
I have mentioned before that I am a healer. For 20 years I had practiced hands on healing, since my days in Ireland at Rainbows End Healing Centre until around 3 years ago when, following a leading, my intuition, the light within, I decided to stop. Much to friends consternation and my puzzlement. However, it was absolutely right to do so. As I deepened my journey into becoming Quaker it was necessary to immerse myself, unencumbered by my ‘old’ way of being, to enable me to fully experience and learn the Quaker way.
I did imagine that I had laid aside my healing for good although I continued to ‘send’ love and light from a distance. It was at the residential week of year 2 of EfM that I had a profound experience. It was during a session named 'Rooted in Christianity - Open to New Light'.
It was mystical in its intensity. I felt as though two halves of my innermost being were drawn together. The right and the left hand being clasped together into a tight ball, two unstoppable magnetic forces closing in on each other.
I had thought myself complete before this but after the experience, two had become one and the circle was completed.
I can best describe it as a joining together of all aspects of myself from birth to that moment. Completely and utterly. And that it was time to once again be a conduit for healing energy for others.
I was so excited I had to try and tell somebody. I told Caro, who got it immediately, and in celebration we danced a jig on the patio outside the Garden Lounge at Woodbrooke.

Within days I tentatively gave healing, thank you Judith, and thereafter have, very slowly, spoken openly that I can once again offer this in service. This practice has always incorporated, and still does when appropriate, the use of Tarot.
The healing feels like the physical manifestation of integration that has been happening at a deep spiritual level. It continues to grow and blossom just like the wild orchid I photographed in my sister's garden in France - against all the odds.
